Girls × Chess was founded by Maddy and Bhavya with a shared goal: to help more girls to find their place in the chess community. After recognizing the lack of female representation in many chess spaces, they created an initiative dedicated to giving young girls an environment where they can learn, compete, and build confidence together.

Through girls-only events, interactive lessons, and mentorship from titled women chess players, Girls × Chess connects students with accomplished female role models while helping them develop their own skills and passion for the game. By building a supportive community both on and off the board, mentors hope to inspire a new generation of girls to see themselves not only as chess players, but as future leaders in the game.
